Question:
Hello etrailer, I have a 99 durango and it does not have this blue connector. I have a 98 ram 1500 and it has this connector. Is there some other way to wire in a brake controller or is there a plug located somewhere else? Thanks.

Yes, there is a way to install the Hopkins Brake Controller part # HM47294 in your 1999 Dodge Durango that does not have the factory port for installing a brake controller.
Since you do not have a factory trailer wiring you will need to start with a 4-way (if you do not have one). For that you would want the # 118334.
From there you would need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install the brake controller. For that you will want the Brake Controller Install Kit and 7-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. I attached installation instructions and an install video for this product as well.
