Question:
What is the recommended route to run the power wire from the wiring harness to the battery in a 2011 Kia Sorento w/o a towing package? Is wire loom necessary?

Wire loom is not necessary but it can be used to protect the wire. You can get a 10 foot long section # 7509-10. You would likely need more than 10 feet though.
Routing the wire on any vehicle is a matter of preference. There are basically 3 ways to do it: under the vehicle exposed, under the vehicle not exposed or partially exposed, and through the vehicle interior.
