Question:
I was brought a 1998 dodge ram 2500 to fix the wiring on electric brakes. The bed has been replaced and all wires to hopkins 7 way plug cut then guessed at reconnecting by bed installer. It is equiped wiht a voyager by Tekonsha brake controller. I need some assistance with the wiring of the hopkins plug to the truck/controller wiring. Thanks for any help!!

In order to determine the correct wire functions for the 7-Way on the 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 you will need to use a circuit tester such as # PTW2992 to determine their functions. You can then wire up the truck side wires to the back of the 7-Way using the picture I have included. Go by the functions only, not the colors in the picture.
For the brake controller, if the 7-Way is a factory 7-Way (or if the truck came with a factory 4-Way) then you will need wiring harness # 3020-P for the Voyager brake controller # 39510. I have included a link to a video to the right showing how this harness installs on a similar truck.
I have also linked a couple additional videos that explain hardwiring in a 7-Way and/or brake controller that should also be helpful.
