what is best and easier bike roof attachments for 2 bikes on our roof rack on my rava 4 2005.? we dont want something we cant reach as we are in our 60s.

We have a couple of roof racks I would recommend for your 2005 Toyota RAV4.
The first bike rack I recommend is the Rhino-Rack MountainTrail Rooftop Bike Carrier, part # RBC035. This is a for-mounted carrier that features a quick-release 9 mm skewer that secures the front wheel fork to the carrier. The sliding rear wheel holder will accommodate different length bikes. You may be interested in a spare tire mounted rack like the Thule Spare Me 2-Bike Carrier, part # TH963PRO. This carrier mounts on the spare tire of your vehicle and would eliminate the need to reach up on the roof for loading and unloading your bikes. This carrier has a weight capacity of 75 lbs. If you are carrying bikes with alternative frames like kids or women's bikes I recommend using an adapter bar like part # 64005. This helps keep the bike more level in the carrier and provides more ground clearance. I have attached a review video for this adapter bar.
