What is Difference Between Curt and EcoHitch for 2026 Toyota BZ

Updated 11/03/2026 | Published 11/02/2026

Question:

Looks like this will work for a 2026 Toyota BZ. Why choose this over the Curt option? Also, does this block the hands-free liftgate sensor similar to how the Curt does?

Hey Joe, yes the EcoHitch part # EH97CR that you referenced does fit your 2026 Toyota bZ as well as the Curt # C92NR. The EcoHitch has a completely hidden design where the lower hitch opening can be removed when not in use whereas the Curt does not have that. Instead it is mostly hidden as only the hitch opening hangs below the rear bumper. The Curt does have a price advantage so you do have to consider that.

Are you planning on doing some towing?

Hi Jameson, I don't plan on towing. The main use is to haul mountain bikes. I also want to retain the hands-free liftgate.

@JoeA make sense! I like the EcoHitch for you then. Do you have a bike rack already?

@JamesonC Yes, I already have a bike rack. Is there a how-to on bumper removal for the 2026 Toyota Bz that you know of?
