Question:

Ive got a gravel bike that I take on a few out of state trips every year, and Im tired of borrowing a bike when I fly somewhere. Ive been looking at the Thule RoundTrip TH49NS, but Im not sure how to tell if my bike will fit. Is there a certain frame size I need to stay under, or does it depend on the wheelbase? Also, is this case going to be a pain to roll through the airport with my other luggage?

Hey Charles, the Thule RoundTrip Road Bike Travel Case # TH49NS is designed to fit most road and gravel bikes, so there's a good chance yours will work! The first thing I'd have you do is measure your bike's wheelbase, which is the distance from the center of your front wheel axle to the center of your rear wheel axle. As long as that measurement is 43.3 inches or less, you're within the case's wheelbase limit.

And I wouldn't worry too much about getting it through the airport. Thule designed this one with a swiveling front wheel that makes it easier to steer around corners and through crowded terminals. The case itself weighs about 27.6 lbs empty, so you'll want to factor that in once your bike and gear are packed, especially with airline weight limits. What I really like is that the front wheel stores inside the case when you're ready to check it, and the sides fold down for easier storage once you reach your destination.

What make and model gravel bike are you planning to travel with?
