Quick-Release Receiver and Coupler Locks for a Utility Trailer

Updated 11/03/2026 | Published 10/30/2026

Question:

I use my utility trailer for work and take the ball mount out of my truck pretty often. I'd like to lock both the ball mount and the trailer coupler, but I'm tired of dealing with different locks and keys. Does PinUltimate make a set that would take care of both?

Hey Jason, yes they do! I recommend the PinUltimate Quick-Release Receiver and Coupler Lock Set # PU398FR. This gives you a receiver hitch lock to secure your ball mount to your truck and a coupler latch lock to help keep your trailer secured when it's hooked up. These come keyed alike and use PinUltimate's quick-release design, making them convenient when you're regularly hooking up and removing your trailer.

We also carry the locks individually if you only need one:

-PinUltimate Titanium Quick-Release Hitch Lock # PU678FR

-PinUltimate Quick-Release Trailer Coupler Latch Lock # PU278FR

What kind of truck and trailer are you using?

Thanks! I have a 2024 Silverado 2500 and a 16' utility trailer. The coupler latch is a little wider than the one on my old trailer. Does the lock set come with different length pins for that?

@Jason yes, the PinUltimate lock set # PU398FR includes two different length coupler latch pins, so you can choose the one that fits your trailer's latch. Both are designed for standard 9/32" latch holes, and the Zero-Gap design helps keep the lock seated close against the latch.
