BTBRV Magnetic Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve Dimensions
Updated 10/28/2026 | Published 10/26/2026 >
Question:
What is the length of the 2.5inch shank behind the flange and the distance from the flange to the slot? I have a Rugby flatbed on my truck, and it has a much deeper pin location than normal at around 3.5.

Thanks for letting us help Matt. The BTBRV Magnetic Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve # BTBRV64FR measures 4-3/4" from the back of the collar to the end of the sleeve. Within that length, the hitch pin slot starts 1-3/8" from the back of the collar and extends to 3-3/8". I've included a dimensional graphic below showing exactly where these measurements are taken. Unfortunately, based on those dimensions and the hitch pin location you provided, it doesn't look like the # BTBRV64FR will line up properly with your receiver.
A better option would be the Replacement 2-1/2" to 2" Adapter Sleeve for TorkLift SuperHitch Magnum # TLM9006. The center of the hitch pin hole on this adapter measures 3-1/2" from the edge of the sleeve, which sounds like a much closer match for your application. I've also included a dimensional graphic of the # TLM9006 so you can compare the measurements directly with your existing receiver.
What are you planning to tow that requires the reducer sleeve?

The reducer is well constructed, easily installed and has a nice appearance. It does not rattle.

I don't tow with the reducer in place as I use the 3 inch drawbar when pulling a large boat. The reducer holds a two inch tow hook when the vehicle is not used for towing.
