Best Base Plate For 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee L With Lower Active Air Shutter

Question:

Hello. I am interested in a Baseplate for the 2021-2024 Jeep GCL Summit or Summit Reserve. Apparently, Demco, Blue Ox or Roadmaster do not have a baseplate that fits these two trims because they have Lower Active Grill Shutters and no tow hooks. It is difficult to find out if the JGCLs I am interested in purchasing have the Lower Shutters. It is not listed in the build sheet put out by Stellantis for each vehicle. Your site has a couple that say they will fit, but upon cross referencing the manufacturers website none are available to fit said trims. Is there a workaround for this? I googled a kit for the shutters and no real solutions. A CEL will appear on the dash.... I actually called RM about 6 months ago when we first started looking at the JGCLs. They were not as helpful as they have been in the past. Just said Nope. We arent going to make them. Currently setup with RM to tow RAM and Jeep Commander. I am open to suggestions at this point. Hey Ricky, welcome back! The Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit # DM39YV is what you will need for a 2021-2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit/Summit reserve with no tow hooks and the active air shutters. We have double checked directly with the folks at Demco and they confirmed the # DM39YV will work with that trim.

That said, I have seen some cases where the air shutter actually needs to be removed in order for the base plate to fit. This will typically cause error codes to pop up, and the only known fix for that is an air shutter delete module. We don't carry those here, but you can find them elsewhere online.
