MORryde RV Griddle Pull Out Tray Mounting Options

Updated 10/28/2026 | Published 10/25/2026

Question:

My RV is a 2026 Forest River Campsite Elite 32BAM. I have a 22inch Blackstone portable grill and it requires 36inch of clearance. My camper cargo bay also has a step down section at the access door that puts the edge of the main floor about 1 foot inside the door. My question is, can this pull-out tray be mounted to the top rails of a larger cargo slide out tray to get more clearance from the side of my RV?

Thanks for reaching out John. Unfortunately, there isn't an approved way to mount the MORryde RV Griddle Pull-Out Tray # MR48DR directly to the rails of a larger cargo slide tray. I initially thought you might be able to mount the griddle tray to the floor of a larger slide, such as the MORryde RV Cargo Slide Tray - 72" x 29" # MR99FR. However, the raised trim along the front of that tray would interfere with the griddle tray sliding out unless it was removed or modified.

Another option worth considering would be building a custom cargo slide using components like the Rail Kit for Kwikee SuperSlide II RV Cargo Slide Tray Assembly - 54" Long # LC370785. These rails allow you to build a cargo tray to your desired width by adding a plywood platform. You could also pair them with a trim kit, such as the Kwikee SuperSlide II Tray Trim Kit - 39" Wide # LC370692, if you wanted a more finished appearance.

Of course, these are just examples. We'd need to select the appropriate rail length and tray dimensions based on your cargo compartment and the amount of extension you're trying to achieve.

I was also curious about the 36" of clearance you mentioned for your Blackstone griddle. Is that the overall height of the griddle with the lid open, or are you referring to the amount of clearance needed between the griddle and the side of your RV while cooking?

The Blackstone paperwork states that 36" of clearance is required on all sides while the griddle is in use. The griddle is 22" wide, add that to the 36" clearance requirement and the 12" floor offset and the end of the slide at full extension needs to be 70" minimum free unsupported from the edge of the floor surface. That seems like a lot, and even the 90" slide with 60% extension does not get there. That is why I thought that combining 2 slides to create a telescoping effect might work, I also thought that support legs at the free end might be a good idea.

@JohnH Gotcha. I'm not sure what you store in the drop down section of that compartment but you could also build a box that is the same height as the upper level which would eliminate the need to mount the a slide behind that area.
