Question:

2008 Pacifica Has no factory trailer wiring. I installed a curt 55530 harness. On the plug with the 10 amp fuse there is no power. There is no designated fuse location in vehicle fuse box. Help

Hey Dennis,

First, how did you verify there's no power at the 10-amp fuse for the Curt # C55530? Did you use a circuit tester or multimeter? I'd also double-check that the factory 2-pin connector near the rear taillight is fully seated and that the 10-amp fuse is actually installed in the inline fuse holder.

If everything is connected properly, I'd check two fuse locations in the underhood fuse box:

Fuse #10 – Trailer Tow: Check whether this location is actually there and has power.

Fuse #11 – Power Liftgate: This may also be associated with the factory power circuit feeding the rear connector.

Let me know what you find out. I'm leaning towards a fuse needing added (even though Curt instructions don't call it out on this year Pacifica).

Hi Andrew I use a multimeter. On a 2008 it does not have a # 10 fuse spot. There is no designated spot for trailer tow. Tomorrow i will check fuse # 11. Why do they call it a 2-pin connector, there is only 1 wire. The proper connector is exactly where shown in pictorial but has no 12 v. Must be fused somewhere. Thankyou for your response. I'll let you know how i do

@DennisH Hey Dennis. I'd check the owner's manual or try looking it up to find where that wire runs to, as it has to be connected to a fuse box or power source of some sort. If you can find where it goes and add a new fuse, you should be good to go. Absolutely worst case scenario you can run your own wire to the fuse box with a fuse-tap or straight to the battery positive terminal with another inline fuse near the battery, but that would be a bit more work for you of course.
