Question:

We have two 65 lb e-bikes and I'm looking at the Thule Epos, possibly the version with lights. Can I add a swing away so we can get into the back of our SUV without unloading the bikes?

Hey Mark! Yes, the Thule Access Swing Away Hitch Adapter will work with either the Thule Epos # TH99XE or the Epos with Lights # TH49XE. It swings the loaded rack 100 degrees out of the way and locks open so you can get to your gear without taking the bikes off. You can choose from the following:

-Thule Access Swing Away Hitch Adapter - Passenger Side # TH34FR33PN

-Thule Access Swing Away Hitch Adapter - Driver Side # TH34FR53PN

Your two 65 lb bikes are within the Epos's 140 lb total bike capacity, and either rack with your bikes will stay below the Access's 250 lb combined rack-and-bike limit. Just keep in mind, this adapter requires a Class III 2" hitch with at least a 500 lb tongue weight capacity so you'll need to check that against what is installed on your SUV.
