How Loud Is 13.5K Furrion Chill Cube Variable Speed RV AC

Updated 10/12/2026 | Published 10/10/2026

Question:

Our current air conditioner makes it hard to hear the television and can wake us up at night. What noise level should we expect from the new 13.5K Chill Cube?

Hey Eric! The 13.5K Chill Cube operates at approximately 57 dB and drops below 50 dB at its lowest speed setting. To put that into perspective, normal conversation is around 60 to 70 dB, and a dishwasher typically runs between 45 and 65 dB. That puts it in the same general range as familiar household background noise.

The variable-speed compressor also makes a difference beyond the sound level itself. It can slow down as the camper cools instead of repeatedly switching between full output and off. This gives you smoother operation without as much of that sudden change in noise, which is especially nice when you're watching TV or trying to sleep. You can choose from the following based on color:

-Furrion Chill Cube RV AC System - 13.5K Btu - Ducted/Non-Ducted - White # FR639YV

-Furrion Chill Cube RV AC System - 13.5K Btu - Ducted/Non-Ducted - Black # FR739YV

I would start cooling the camper before bedtime so it can settle into quieter, lower-speed operation instead of working hard to cool a hot interior while you're trying to fall asleep.

What AC are you replacing?

Thanks for the explanation! Does the fan also slow down automatically as the camper cools, or do you have to adjust that separately?

@Eric the Chill Cube has an automatic fan setting that adjusts the fan speed based on cooling demand. You can also select the fan speed manually if you prefer. I would use the automatic setting at night so the system can adjust as needed without you having to get up and change anything.
