Where To Hoop Up Brake Controller Power Wire On A 2025 Ford Maverick Hybrid

Question:
Where do I hook up the power wire on a 2025 maverick hybrid? I would assume there’s somewhere in the engine compartment and not have to chase back to the battery under the rear seat.

Hey Paul, thanks for reaching out. On the 2025 Maverick Hybrid, the 12-volt battery is located under the rear passenger-side seat, so there isn't an under-hood battery like you'd find on most trucks. Ford does provide under-hood jump-start terminals for charging and emergency starting. Those posts are intended for jump-starting and service access, not as a dedicated power source for accessories like a brake controller.
For an aftermarket brake controller, I'd still recommend running the power wire directly to the 12-volt battery under the rear seat with the appropriate circuit breaker or fuse installed near the battery. That follows the brake controller manufacturer's installation instructions and ensures the controller has a reliable power source. While it may be tempting to use the under-hood jump post to avoid running a wire to the battery, I wouldn't recommend it for a brake controller installation.
What brake controller are you using?
