My BAKFlip G2 Hard Tonneau Cover Has A Small Leak On The Corner Near The Cab - What Can I Do?

Question:

had mine installed on my 2010 tacamo by one of your dealers but still some leaks on up corner near cab. Any suggestions?

Hey Mark, thanks for reaching out. That’s a pretty common spot for a little seepage on those covers. The front corners by the cab are where the rails, bulkhead, and bed caps all meet, so if anything isn’t perfectly sealed, water will find its way in. First thing I’d check is that the rails are sitting flat and tight up against the bulkhead with no gaps. Sometimes the bed caps or a little debris keeps them from sealing all the way, and loosening the clamps, repositioning, and retightening can clean that up.

After that, take a look at the foam bulkhead seal that runs along the front of the bed. If it’s not making full contact all the way across, or it’s a little short in the corners, water will sneak past it. Adding a bit of extra foam or even a bead of automotive-grade sealant in those upper corners usually fixes it. Also make sure your drain tubes are installed and clear, because if water can’t drain out of the rails, it’ll back up and show up in those corners.
