The 18252 hardwire kit needs to be cut and spliced to your vehicle taillight assembly wires. I have included a link to a video of a hardwire install on a 2000 Dodge Neon. There are plug and play type wiring harness that are easier to install for some vehicles. I would be happy to confirm what the best wiring option is for your vehicle, if you write back with your vehicle year, make and model.
