Question:

I have a 1991 Chevrolet Silverado stepside and I was curious if you have to drill into the bed or will it install using the existing screw holes. Thank you

Hey Cody! There's absolutely no drilling required to install the TruXedo Lo Pro Soft Roll-up Tonneau Cover item # TX549101 on your 1991 Chevy Silverado. This tonneau cover installs using clamps that grip the rails of the tonneau cover and the tops of your bed sides to insure a secure connection. I attached a picture below of the clamp installed.

The TruXedo Lo Pro item # TX549101 is confirmed to fit the 1991 Chevy Silverado with the 6' long step side bed.

Please note that if your truck does not have a lip and the top of the bed rails are flush with the sides of the bed you will need the Access Original Soft, Roll-Up Tonneau Cover item # 834532000210. The clamps install in the 3 bolt holes just underneath the top of the bed rails.

What kind of gear do you typically haul that you're wanting to protect with a tonneau cover?

On the 91 stepside there are no inside rails. It is straight down. I’m just wanting to to store small items in and for cosmetic looks.

@CodyB Thank you so much for that information! The TruXedo Lo Pro item # TX549101 is not going to work with your truck. You'll need the Access Original Soft, Roll-Up Tonneau Cover item # 834532000210 instead. The clamps install in the 3 bolt holes just underneath the top of the bed rails. I've linked an installation video below that we made on an '89 Silverado with the same bed.
