Hey Brian, the difference mostly comes down to what style you like, and how fast you want it to pump diesel fuel. And yes, these have been around for along time and they are very high quality fuel transfer pumps!
The # FR98XQ rotary style is rated at 10 gallons per 100 rotations
The # FR53XQ piston is rated at 20 gallons per 100 strokes
They’re reliable and require no power, but you’re supplying the motion. If you’re fueling frequently or moving larger volumes, I'd opt for the piston pump # FR53XQ.
Is this on a farm or different business?

We sort of have a small farm, but also a business that has a bit of gas-powered equipment. So we will put one of these pumps to good use. thanks andrew
