Is A Weight Distribution System Needed For Towing 2026 Crossroad Zinger Camper With 2019 Frontier?

Question:
I bought a 2026 Crossroad Zinger 12fb very lite trailer this past weekend. It will be ready next Saturday. The dealer recommended a tow stabilizer. I have a nissan 2019 Pro 4x. Do I really need one? If so what do you recommend? The dealer would charge me 1100 to install it but I should be able to do it myself. Thank you,

Hey Prajuk! I hope your day is going well.
Congrats on the new Crossroad RV. I believe you are asking if you need a Weight Distribution Hitch (equalizer hitch). In order to verify if one is needed, you need to look at the GVWR (overall weight) of your truck, along with the GTW (overall weight) of the trailer. If the trailer weights 50% or more of the truck, then you'll need one.
According to google, your truck has a GVWR of aout 5,600lbs, and the trailer has a dry weight of about 2,786lbs. With cargo and other things added to the trailer, it likely will be 50% or more of your trucks GVWR. I also recommend adding a WDH if you notice any sway or abnormalities when towing.
A reliable and easy-to-install system that will work for you is the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution # FA92-00-0600. It includes everything necessary for installation and is simple to install if you're handy with basic tools. I've attached a detailed install video for you to check out. The hardest part is drilling holes into your trailer frame for the brackets to attach to.
Where are you planning on taking the Zinger to first? Any fun biking or fishing trips planned?
