Does this plug into the 4-pin wire harness and does it come on when the truck is in reverse gear?

Hello Bill, thanks for reaching out. The Peterson LED Work Light # PET92PV does not plug into a 4-flat trailer connection. It has two wires (one for power and one for ground) and they have 0.180" bullet connectors on the end. So to wire them in you will want the following:
- Peterson Lead Wire for Trailer Lights - 0.180" Female Bullet Connector # PET23NV
It can be used as a reverse light as long as you wire it into the correct circuit.
