Question:
Hi, I would like to know the correct placement of the fifth wheel hitch for my 1500 Dodge Ram 2014 Outdoorsman 6.4 foot long box? I find it to much forward in the box. Garage install it at 29 inches from rail to gate and he show me a diagram that says that. But i call another garage and he told me that it should be at 26,1/4 inches from rail to gate. Right now it pins about 3-4 inches in front of axle. Its a reese 16K with slider and its a universal attach rail kit. Thanks

According to page 13 of the instructions for the Reese Universal Base Rail Installation Kit # RP30035 the rear edge of the rear base rail when installed in a 2009 and newer Ram 1500 short bed should be 29-inches from the edge of the truck bed. I have linked these instructions for you.
