Question:
2019 Ford Ranger with tow package. Do I require a brake controller and the 7 pin trailer connector? Or will the 7 pin connector be enough? My rv does have powered brakes.

Hey John, in order to activate your trailer brakes you will need to have a brake controller installed in your 2019 Ford Ranger along with the 7-way kit part # 22124 that you referenced. Just a 7-way by itself does not have the ability to actuate the trailer brakes.
For a brake controller the Redarc Tow Pro Liberty part # RED52VR would be a really great choice that works well and only puts a small knob on your dash. What RV do you have?
