Is There A Soft Tonneau Cover That Is Secure And TheftProof For 2025 Silverado 1500 6-1/2' Bed?

Question:

How secure is the Fas-Top Pro Tonneau FT42MV on a 2025 Silverado 1500 6-1/2' bed when the tailgate’s locked? I sometimes leave tools back there.

Brianna, when your 2025 Silverado 1500 (or Sierra 1500) tailgate is locked, the # FT42MV is secure. Its spring-loaded latches sit inside the rails, so the cover can’t be rolled without opening the tailgate. The sides tuck under the rails, leaving no easy pry points. It’s not a hard-shell vault, but it’s very effective against casual access. Basically, these soft covers will keep an honest person out, but unfortunately a thief can still find a way in if he/she really wants to.

If you want a fully enclosed space, you can add the # FT26TV topper onto your # FT42MV rails or go straight to the Traveler combo # FT48RV which gives a better price for both the topper and tonneau cover in one kit. Do you keep hand tools or camping gear back there?

Mostly power tools and a few smaller items like a cordless drill, socket sets, and stuff for jobsite work. I just don’t want anyone seeing them sitting in the bed.

@Brianna That’s a smart call, Brianna. I’ve got a tonneau on my own truck for the same reason. I mess with classic cars and golf carts on the weekends, so it’s perfect for keeping my tools, batteries, and parts out of the weather and out of sight.
