Replacement 7-Way for 2006 Dodge Durango Adventurer

Updated 12/01/2025 | Published 11/03/2025

Question:

I have a 2006 Durango Adventurer 5.7L Hemi with a factory hitch and four and seven pin plug sockets. The factory sockets are completely useless. Now. The Support brackets have completely rotted off the factory hitch. Do you make a kit for this vehicle and how would it differ from the kit for a Durango that did not have a factory tow package?

Hi Jeff; if your factory wiring harness (this has the square plug connected to your trailer connectors) is still in good shape you can replace your 4-way and 7-way with the Multi-Plug T-One Connector Assembly for 7-Way & 4 Pole Trailer Connector # 20135. I'm not sure which factory connector came with the 2006 Durango so I can't really say how this will differ but, I can tell you it has both the 4-way and 7-way just like the one you have.

If that wiring harness is in bad shape like your trailer connectors you can replace everything using the Curt # C55597 and the # ETBC7. This will completely bypass the factory wiring so you can be sure there won't be any issues.

Hey Jeff, how did things turn out with the replacement wiring on your Durango? Did the new connectors and harness solve the issues with your factory sockets? Your update could make it easier for others dealing with the same corrosion problem.
