Tonneau Cover To Protect 5th Wheel Hitch In 2023 Ford F250 Lariat Short Bed

Question:

I have a 2023 f250 super duty Lariat with a BandW companion 5th wheel hitch. I am looking for a tonneau cover that hides what is in the bed when not towing but is out of the way when hitching up my 5th wheel. This cover s÷ms to fit the bill but what does etrailer recommend?

Hi Timothy!

The etrailer Soft Tonneau Cover - Roll-Up - Vinyl and Aluminum # e52DR is definitely a good option to keep your B&W Companion covered when not in use. It's inexpensive and will completely roll up our of the way without blocking the view behind you. It will get the job done without breaking the bank.

However, if you want something that is going to be a lot more secure when closed (and I do mean a lot more secure), I recommend checking out the BAK Revolver X2 Hard Tonneau Cover - Roll Up - Aluminum and Vinyl # BAK39330. Be forewarned, it is significantly more expensive, but it's also super nice. It still rolls up and doesn't completely block the view behind you, but it is a hard cover so no one can just cut it open. If you will also have other stuff in your bed when you aren't using your 5th wheel, I would probably go this route. If you are just wanting to protect the hitch and don't really have much in your bed, go with the less expensive option.

I tow a 2026 keystone cougar 316rls. Can of def and a locked container is all that I carry now. Thanks.

@TimothyG Gotcha. If that is what you will be carrying most of the time, I would probably save the money and go with the lesser expensive etrailer Soft Tonneau Cover - Roll-Up - Vinyl and Aluminum # e52DR. It will serve you well. Let me know if there is anything else I can help with! : )
