Will Hidden Hitch by Draw-Tite Limit Kick Sensor on 2025 Toyota RAV4 PHEV XSE

Updated 10/26/2025 | Published 10/21/2025

Question:

My understanding from my trailer installer mechanics inspection is that my 2025 RAV4 PHEV XSE has a kick sensor running the length of the bumper, because you can wave your foot at any spot under the bumper. Will this DT97YR Hidden Hitch still allow the sensor to work in a capacity where all I would have to do is adjust where I kick?

Expert Reply:

Hello Karthik; if the sensor runs the full length of the bumper the Hidden Hitch by Draw-Tite # DT97YR will only block the sensor where the receiver sits. With the receiver removed it would be a non-issue.

What do you plan on using the hitch for?

I plan on using it for a bike rack.

@Karthik it will be perfect for a bike rack. Just make sure you double check the tongue weight capacity of your vehicle since it is likely less than the capacity of the hitch.
