Could Seaflo Deck Plate for Boats be Used for RV Power Cord

Updated 10/21/2025 | Published 10/08/2025

Question:

I have a 2017 Northwood 32-5m trailer with an electrical hatch on side of trailer for 50 amp service through a door. In order to get power cord out of the grommet I have to string all the cord out before putting it through the door as electrical hatch is a bit tight for 50 amp plug to go thru. Was wandering if one of your 4” deck plates would work if I cut a slot in the lid to have the cord go thru when I screwed the lid in. I would have to have another lid to use for transporting down the highway to keep stuff out of compartment door. Or what would you recommend for something like this. Thanks

Hey Shawn, if I am understanding you correctly you are wanting to put a hole in the lid of the Seaflo Deck Plate for Boats # SE83FR so that you could feed the wire through easier but then would want a second lid to for when traveling and you want to keep it all closed off? If so, I don't see why this wouldn't work but we don't have a way to sell just the lid of this so you'd have to order two of these kits.

We also have a bigger version of this with part # 37210-31005 which is 5-3/4 inch in diameter as opposed to 4 inches.
