Question:
Hi, I currently have a 5 pin flat wire yarness to a 5pin circle connector on my boat trailer. I want to add reverse lights to the trailer. confirm I need to jump to a 6pin system? if so what product do you have that is a Y split to make it easy to run down both sides of the trailer? I need 30 of wire.

Hey Alex, yes you would need to add additional circuits to your 5-pin setup to allow it to carry the reverse light circuit as well. The most common style of connector for this would be to go with a 7-way so that would be what I would recommend. The 6-way is basically only really used with horse trailers so it's not very common at all.
We have a kit for this with the etrailer junction box part # e99011. You'd run your current 4-way wiring to the matching terminals and then run the extra circuit you want to add to the reverse light circuit. Since it's a post that you attach to on the circuits you can easily run two wires for the reverse light circuit for both sides of the trailer.
