Recommended Wheel Chocks for a 32,000 lbs Trailer

Updated 09/19/2025 | Published 09/03/2025

Question:

Looking for a recommendation for wheel chocks for my equipment trailer. Fully loaded my truck and trailer weigh 32k. The ones I have don’t secure the trailer during loading.

Hey David. For your equipment trailer, I recommend the Rumber 20" Wheel Chocks w/ 5' Pull Chain item # RM67FR or item # RM47FR with a 3' pull chain. These are made out of solid, UV resistant, rubber, and plastic. They have a textured bottom that keeps the chocks from moving out of place. They're sold as a pair with a 3' or 5' length of chain connecting them. The chain makes removing them easier.

What kind of equipment are you moving with your trailer?

I transport a construction backhoe and a bulldozer, not at the same time lol. When loading my equipment, the inertia sometimes moves my 8000# F350 DRW quite a bit despite the parking brake.

@David Lol I mean they do make smaller ones now but transporting them separately makes more sense. I grew up on a farm so I totally get the situation you're in. Those item # RM67FR or item # RM47FR chocks on your trailer will definitely take the pressure off of your F-350's brake and transmission.

Hi again Jerred, do you know the approximate weight of a 20" set with 3' chain?

@David David, I know the exact weight! 32.96 lbs for item # RM47FR with a 3' chain and 35 lbs for item # RM67FR with a 5' chain.
