Does Draw Tite Hitch DT38KV Stick Out Past Rear Bumper
Updated 09/29/2025 | Published 09/01/2025 >
Question:
After installation, what is the clearance under the hitch? Does it stick out past the bumper at all? Would mostly be using it for a bike rack and an occasional flat trailer for Home Depot runs. Not a deal breaker at all, but does it block the kick sensor for the rear door? Thanks!

Hey Jeremy, once installed the Draw Tite hitch part # DT38KV does not stick out past the rear bumper and it sits pretty tight under the bumper like you can see in the attached picture. It really would only add about 2.5 inches or so to below your bumper.
Your hands free liftgate would still function too you would just need to kick to either side of the hitch.

Hey Jeremy, did the Draw Tite hitch work well for your bike rack and Home Depot runs? I'm curious to know how it all turned out for you!
