Do You Carry the Replacement Screw for My Thule Apex XT Bike Rack for 4 Bikes?

Updated 09/03/2025 | Published 08/29/2025

Question:

I am looking for replacement hex screws for my Thule Apex XT swing black. We took the screws off from the cradle on the arm to strap down the Thule Tram. However we misplaced the screws and wondered if you know the spec of them screws? I was hoping Thule would list out the part, but no luck.

Hello Kevin,

First, I reached out to Thule and got the same information as you from my contact, they do not have it listed as a replacement part, so he wasn’t much help there. That meant it was time to go on an adventure to the warehouse.

I found in the instructions that it’s a M6 x 25 mm bolt. I opened a Thule Apex XT # TH9025XT box and measured, it came out just a hair over 1" long. I also tried a couple of options:

- The Replacement M6 x 25 mm Allen Bolt # 919-0625-54 does not have the correct head to work.

- The Replacement M6 x 25 mm Button Security Screw for Rhino-Rack Accessories - Qty 1 # RR54HB will work, but you’ll also need the 5 mm Security Allen Key for Rhino-Rack Accessories # RR57TB because of the security design on the # RR54HB.

Now that you know the size you need, you may be able to source it locally. If not, at least you know exactly what to order. And I’m sure the lost screws will turn up the moment the new ones arrive, funny how life works that way.

By the way, what kind of bikes do you have? Do you have a favorite trail you like to ride? We’ve got the Katy Trail here in Missouri, and it’s always loaded with cyclists. I’m actually doing the Mammoth March 20-mile hike on it this Sunday, so I’ll be out there quite a bit. =)
