New Furrion AC Unit Doesn't Cool During Hot Day On 2025 Gulf Stream Kingsland 21 Gbs

Question:
2025 Gulf Stream Kingsland 21 QBS This is a brand new rv and the furrion a/c does not cool during the day, just blows hot air. By 11 am it is 88 degrees inside and 89 outside, sun is out. As the day progresses it gets up to 98 in the trailer and its 99 outside. by 9 pm temp inside is going down to 79 degrees, by morning its 65 inside and outside its 82. pulled the temp sensor out of the return air side and it is outside the cover, that did not help. Changed the capacitor that did not work. since the compressor is working fine in the evening and at night, should not be low on freon. The only other possibility is the heat overload on top of the compressor. Would you agree??

Ron, you’re on the right track. Since the unit cools well at night but not during the hottest part of the day, it’s very possible the compressor is shutting off from heat overload. These rooftop A/Cs have a thermal cutoff to protect the compressor when rooftop temps climb. That’s why you’re only getting warm air until things cool off in the evening.
I'd make sure your return/supply ducts are sealed properly, the coils are clean, and the fan is set to high cool for maximum airflow. Even new units can lose efficiency if air is bypassing inside the plenum. Parking in shade or adding an A/C shroud can also help keep it from overheating.
If the problem continues after checking airflow, I’d have a service center test it under warranty to confirm if the overload switch is tripping too soon. You may have a defective unit needing replaced under warranty.
