How to Use 1Up LED Light Bar When Flat Towing a 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

Question:

Hi, Ive have a 1 Up bike rack with the additional light bar. It is connected to my Jeep by a 4-pin connector. The Jeep has a Demco Airforce 1 brake assist system installed. They are all flat towed by a diesel pusher coach with a 7 pin connector to the Jeep. My issue is, when everything is connected, towing behind the motorhome, the light bar doesnt work. It has power, it lights up but no brake indication or turn signals. I took it to a Demco installer. They said it is because of a diode that is used in the brake light assembly in the Jeep. When just running the Jeep with the bike rack, everything seems to work fine. Is there a way around this? Anything that you know of that I can do to get the system up and running as it should?

Hi,

The Tekonsha T-One Wiring Kit # 118786 will fix your issue, because it will send power to the 4-Way flat whenever your tail lights receiver power. The diode kit you have prevents the OEM wiring from working all the way because the brake lights will conflict with the motorhome lights when flat towing.
