Can Furrion Chill HE Upper Unit Replace Dometic Duo Therm AC Unit

Updated 08/06/2025 | Published 08/04/2025

Question:

RE: Replacement for Duo Therm model 57915.621 my question has been answered previously by Kevin C on 7/2/23 and updated 7/22/24 He states that Furrion Chill FR26PR is a direct replacement for that unit, [6 pin plug] Last week I opened a chat with Tyler to confirm this information and check availability. His info contradicts what was stated by Kevin C Tyler says I will need to replace control box and thermostat. please verify if the Furrion unit is a direct, plug and play replacement for the Duo Therm 6 pin plug unit. thank you

Hey Morris, sorry about the conflicting information but Tyler gave you the correct info. At the time Kevin (and all of us) were under a false impression that you could mix the Furrion upper unit with the Duo Therm lower unit but we've recently learned that at best was super unreliable and at worst just didn't work at all. Plus the fact that recently all AC units had to switch to a new refrigerant which changes parts of the air distribution boxes it essentially makes it completely incompatible and the correct route is to replace everything.

Are you wanting a Furrion Chill unit or did you have something else in mind? Currently their most recent release is the Furrion Chill Cube like the part # FR69TD which is really nice!

disappointed that the retrofit is not possible. Regarding the unit you’ve recommended, I’m happy to be able to upgrade to 18000 BTU. my next question would be does that unit come with everything I will need? It looks like a thermostat and control box is included.

@MorrisT Yeah the retrofit options were just too good to be true. We were all excited when they were released but they have been a nightmare since. The kit I recommended does come with everything needed to install.
