Looking for Longer Ball Mount for 2023 Forest River Rockwood Hard Side
Updated 08/15/2025 | Published 07/22/2025 >
Question:
We have a 2023 forest river rockwood hard side a214hw camper being pulled with a 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe XRT. The sway bar system wont allow our tailgate to open. Can we get a longer ball mount shank to extend it out further and still pull the trailer safely?

Hey Joe, yes this is a great option to solve your problem. The # 7390 that you referenced is actually a great solution most likely as it is longer than most ball mounts, is adjustable in rise/drop, and has a sway control tab built into the ball mount platform.
About how much more length do you need and also what rise/drop?

Hey Joe, did you get a chance to try out the longer ball mount? How did it work with your camper and Santa Fe? I'm curious because it could help others facing a similar issue.
