Which Reese Dual Cam II WD System for Trailer with 910 lb Tongue Weight

Updated 07/14/2025 | Published 07/01/2025

Question:

I am towing a 2024 Vibe 28bdh Hitch Weight: 910 lbs Dry Weight: 7,298 lbs Sleeps: 7 GVWR Gross Vehicle Weight Rating: 7,835 lbs Payload Capacity: 2,412 lbs Fresh Water Capacity: 40 gallons with a 2022 F-250 6.7 diesel with a 2.5inch hitch receiver. Would this be the correct solution for me? I have a husky friction system now and I have terrible sway especially when big rigs fly past or high winds. Thanks for your help!

Hey Chris, thank you for all of the info you listed! With that in mind the Reese Dual Cam II Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control # RP75FR that you referenced is the correct system and will make a noticeable improvement in sway reduction. It also is compatible with the Husky shank you have already.

Thank you Jameson. By using the reducer for the 2" shank, will this allow for more sway or am I ok and safe in that regard? Thanks! Chris

@ChrisH That's a good question. So it would add a little bit of movement but that shouldn't translate into noticeable sway. Best option would be a shank for the 2.5 inch hitch size though like the part # EQ90-02-4900. I have a coworker that uses this exact system with a 2.5 inch hitch reducer and he said he has no sway at all.
