Question:
I have a 2022 Toyota Highlander AWD XLE with a tow rating of 5000 pounds. I am towing a tent trailer with a dry weight of 2500 pounds. Once fully loaded my guess is we are still under 3500 pounds and I am experiencing a decent amount of rear end sag. Should I go with suspension air bags? Or would a weight distribution hitch be a better solution? When I look at WDHs I wasnt sure if part number FA92-00-0450 would be sufficient or if I should choose part FA-00-0600. Can you please advise your recommendations?

Hey Jenifer! I would get a weight distribution hitch over the suspension enhancement. This is the best way keep you level and also help with any sway you might experience. On top of that, you won't have to worry about keeping up with air bag adjustments or getting a compressor to go with them.
The right system is based on the tongue weight of your loaded setup. Tongue weight is typically 10-15% of the trailer weight, along with the weight of anything behind the rear axle in your Highlander. Based on what you gave me the # FA92-00-0600 would be the best choice. This is designed to work with 250-600 lbs of tongue weight so it is perfect for that setup. You will also need # A-90 for a 2" ball or # C40030 for a 2-5/16" ball along with # ALL643216 for installation.
What kind of trailer do you have?
