Question:

I have a 2019 Catalina Coachmen Legacy Edition 293QBCK. Dry Weight-6572lbs GVWR- 9500 Hitch Weight 835 I have weight distribution bars and a sway bar. When I hit 55 mph, the front of the tow vehicle get a little squirelly and can bob up and down. What do you recommend to solve the problem? Thank you, Joanie

Hey Joanie, the two biggest causes for trailer sway at the speed you mentioned is not enough tongue weight relative to total trailer weight or the trailer is sitting too nose high. So first check to make sure the trailer is sitting as level as possible and then move as much cargo weight in the trailer as forward as possible if you can.

Since most everything in a camper is fixed it's more likely that your trailer is sitting nose high but either way let me know and we can check some other things as well.

With that said if you want something that will stop sway regardless what you'd want is the Curt True Course part # C94VV.

Hi and thank you for your response. The trailer isn't swaying, it is the front end of my tow vehicle that is the problem. The trailer is level while towing as well. I am not sure if the weight distribution bars are the problem or if I need something else to help transfer the weight to the front of the tow vehichle. Thank you again for your help! Joanie

@Joanie Sorry I misunderstood your problem. Yes a weight distribution system will help as what you are experiencing is called "porpoising". A kit like the Fastway part # FA92-00-1000 would work great as it's properly rated for your tongue weight and overall is a great performing system.
