Can I Use The Front Hitch 65067 For Parking My Trailer

Updated 09/12/2025 | Published 05/21/2025

Question:

Can I use this for parking a travel trailer in a space inaccessible by backing in? Not looking to use it for any significant distance other than parking for storage. Trailer weighs 4,000 lbs. Will that exceed the 500 pound vertical load limit?

Hey Max,

This is going to work well for you. Vertical load or tongue weight is 10-15% of your total trailer weight. Since yours is 4,000lbs you are going to have a tongue weight of 400-450lbs. This hitch is going to be able to handle that well for you, especially if you are just going to be using it for a short period of time to park the trailer.

What trailer are you going to be moving with this hitch?

Hey Max, Did the hitch work out for parking your trailer? I'd love to hear your experience as it could help others in a similar situation.
