Question:
I pulled out my IRV36 from my 2021 Jayco trailer to reset it and noticed it was very hot in the back where you plug it in, Im concerned is that normal.

Hey Laylow, thanks for reaching out!
It's normal for electronics to heat up, especially if it's hot outside, but if the iRV36 was hot-hot and not just warm then there are a few things that would be worth looking into: the ventilation and the wiring.
Being that the stereo looks like it's OEM, the ventilation should be fine, but I'd still check to make sure there is a big enough cavity that the stereo can "breathe". It doesn't need an excessive, but you also don't want the stereo butted up against a back wall or anything either.
For the wiring, just make sure that all of the connections are solid and nothing is barely hanging on or anything like that. From the photo you sent in it looks like it was done well, but it would still help to check that.
If all of that looks good, then it might be that the unit is going out and needs to be replaced, but generally that's noticeable because features will start acting buggy.
Let me know what you find with the ventilation and wiring!

I really appreciate your input, everything looks good I'll plug it back in and feel better. I'll keep an eye on the system and replace it when the time comes. Thanks Jon G!
