What is the Difference BetweenEX14630-45 and EX14760-45, Which is Right for my 1997 Toyota Tacoma?

Question:

What is the difference between EX14630-45 and EX14760-45? Without a picture or drawing of these parts, how would I know which part is the part that I need? I have a soft roll up Tuff Tonno cover PART NO. 14870 that I purchased, new, in 2017 for my 1997 Toyota Tacoma. The clips that lock down the Rear Rail, above the Tailgate have broken. Is one of these the right Part number to replace that rail and does it include the clips?

Great question! The part numbers # EX14630-45 and # EX14760-45 correspond to replacement back rails for specific models of the Extang Tuff Tonno soft roll-up tonneau covers. EX14630-45 is designed for the Tuff Tonno cover model EX14630, while EX14760-45 fits model EX14760.

What is the serial number of date code on your tonneau cover? I am more than happy to reach out to my contact at Extang to ensure that we are getting you the right rail.

I have model 14870, purchased in 2017. I don’t know the S/N. Do you have a part that will fit my model number? What is the difference between model 14630, 14760 and 14870? Can you get me a photo of the back rails, with some dimensions?

@MichaelC Hey Michael, Both rails are a direct-ship item, meaning they're ordered through our site but shipped straight from the manufacturer. Because of that, I’m not able to go into the warehouse to measure them or take any photos. That said, I’m going to reach out to Extang and see if they can sort it out based on the info you’ve provided. I’ll keep you posted as soon as I hear back. @MichaelC Hey Michael, I received an answer but it is not the one I was hoping for. This is what Extang had to say: Replacement rails are no longer available for the Tuff Tono model. My apologies for any inconvenience. I am very sorry I do not have a better answer for you. If you end up getting a whole new cover the Extang Trifecta Signature 2.0 Soft Tonneau Cover - Folding - Canvas # EX94870 is one of our most cost effective covers, and it is really nice. I'm all about fixing what I have, so I really am sorry that the no longer have the rails.
