Can a Regular Bolt, Smaller than Hitch Pin Hole, Be Used to Secure Yakima Bike Rack in Trailer Hitch
Published 06/13/2014 >
Question:
This is a followup to a previous question and answer. I need a little more info. The bolt I have in does not contact with threads at all. Does it matter that it doesnt thread with the hitch or bike rack, but only with a nut to itself?

Technically you can use the regular bolt that is not making contact with the threads in your Yakima bike rack. However, you will lose the anti-rattle feature. The rack will be able to move around and could over time damage the hitch receiver. I strongly advise the proper replacement pin if you can tell me the model rack that you have.
