will the Curt Q20 work on a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Crew Cab with 70 inch bed? Do i need a Reese Sidewinder? Thanks

Hello Mark,
I'm glad you reached out! The Curt Q20 # C16130 is not compatible with rotating pin boxes such as the Reese Sidewinder, Reese Revolution, and 5th Airborne Sidewinder. Since you have a 5 3/4' bed, you'll need either a sliding hitch or a fixed hitch with a rotating pin box to ensure proper clearance.
If you choose a sliding hitch, I recommend the Demco Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # DM94AV, which includes both the hitch and custom rails for your 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. If you prefer a fixed hitch, I suggest the B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Hitch # BW24XR (16K capacity) or the # BW57XR (18K capacity), both of them will also come with custom rails for your truck.
To determine if a Sidewinder will work for your setup, I've attached a clearance formula for reference. Once you confirm fitment, I can provide the correct Sidewinder part number, but I’ll first need your Pin Box number and the weight of your 5th wheel. If you’re unsure of the Pin Box number, no problem. Just send me the information from your kingpin sticker (see attached example), and I can reach out to Lippert to get it for you. For example, if you have a Lippert 1716, you would need the 5th Airborne Premium 5th Wheel Air Ride King Pin w/ Sidewinder and Turret # RP77FR.
