Ladder Rack To Go With Soft Tonneau Cover On 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 Short Bed

Hell Even, thanks for reaching out. We may have a ladder rack that will work with the soft tonneau cover on your 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 short bed. I will need to know exactly what soft cover you have, in order to be sure the rack will fit. Basically, as long as your tonneau cover sits inside the bed rails, and does not cover the bed rails, you have ladder rack options. If your soft cover sits on top of the bed rails, it would not be possible to add a ladder rack.

Provided your cover sits inside the bed rails, what I recommend for a rack is the Thule TracRac SR Sliding Truck Bed Ladder Rack w/ Cantilever # TH43002XT-782EX. This model is made specifically for the short bed Silverado. It uses base rails that sit on top of the bed rails and attach to the stake pockets. So as long as your bed rails and stake pockets are uncovered, this rack will work great. It has a 1,250 lb capacity so it can handle a good bit of gear.

Hey Even, did you get a chance to check whether your Softopper sits inside the bed rails on your Silverado? Knowing that would confirm if the Thule TracRac SR rack fits like expected. Your update could make it easier for others with the same setup.
