Question:
What size tow bar do I need to tow a 2017 Chevy Tahoe? I’ve been looking at your roadmaster falcon all terrain 6000. My Motorhome has a 600hp Cummins so I know it is capable. Thanks

Hey John, thanks for reaching out. According to the online owners guide the 2017 Chevy Tahoe has a cub weight of 5,356 lbs to 5,631 lbs. So technically a 6,000 lb tow bar like the Roadmaster Falcon All-Terrain # RM-522 would be just enough, but you would be cutting it very close. If you plan to stow any gear or cargo in the Tahoe, you might be at risk of overloading the tow bar which is a big no-no. From a safety/caution/peace of mind standpoint, I strongly encourage you to go with a higher rated tow bar.
What I recommend is the etrailer XHD Non-Binding Tow Bar # e84ZR which is rated for up to 10,500 lbs. This way there will be zero risk of overloading things. This tow bar is made specifically to be compatible with the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base plates, just like the Falcon. Our etrailer brand tow bars are made for us by Demco, so you are getting a very solid, time-tested tow bar. Made here in the USA too. This is definitely what I recommend going with, epically since the price point is very comparable to the Falcon. Comment below and let me know what you think, or if you have any questions.

Hey John, how did things go with the etrailer XHD tow bar for your Tahoe? Did the higher weight rating give you the peace of mind you were looking for? Your experience could help others deciding between these two tow bars.
