Question:
My travel trailer weighs 5100 lbs, average tongue weigh is 850lbs. My WDS is fastway e2 8000 lb. system. I just bought a 2025 Ram 1500 64 bed crew cab Laramie truck. Is there an easy to adjust the WDS between having an empty and loaded truck bed? I usually have 600-700 lbs of gear when I travel with trailer. Is my WDS adequate for my trailer/truck?

Hello Allen,
Congrats on the new truck! When it comes to the weight distribution systems you want to stay within the tongue weight range, and to not go over. If you have the e2 8,000 # FA94-00-0800 you might want to consider getting the stronger spring bars to be inside the correct tongue range, you would need quantity 2 of the # FA94-02-1099, these would give you a tongue weight up to 1k. I am sure just being just the 50 pounds over isn't a huge deal, but anymore than that it is definitely something to consider.
As far as adjusting, there is not going to be an easier way to adjust it between having a loaded truck bed vs unloaded. I recommend just remembering the settings you have it at for unloaded and loaded so you when you have to go back and forth you already know what setting you need it at.
Happy New Year, may 2025 be your best year yet! From, your friends here at etrailer.

Hey Allen, how did things go with the stronger spring bars for your Fastway e2 system on your Ram 1500? Did they make it easier to stay within the right tongue weight range? Your update could make it easier for others towing with a similar setup.
