Mike, the Kat's Heaters Oil/Transmission Pad # KH26150 will heat between 300 to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. The transmission fluid will expand if there is heat applied from either the truck or the heating pad, but it should not leak. I have heard of leaking issues in extremely cold temps, but not from fluid expanding and then contracting.
