Hey Rafael,
The black wire for the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller # 90885 needs to be connected to a constant 12V power source.
If your vehicle doesn't have an OEM 12V power source wire then we recommend running a length of 10 Gauge Wire # 10-1-1 from the black wire to your battery positive terminal. Be sure to put a 30A Circuit Tester # PK54230 in-line with the wire to help protect both the controller and your battery.
