Hey Gary,

The Custom Fit Gas Strut - Hood # ATL25GR is 30-9/16" when extended and 16-1/16" when compressed. There isn't a specific weight listed since the manufacturer lists these struts by vehicle fitment instead of weight. What's the year/make/model of the vehicle you're needing a replacement strut for?

The application is for fitness equipment, the seat adjusts on a inclined rail. Our failed shock was used for the seat to push up and not slide down (crash down from gravity). I hope this makes sense. The seat is no more than 10 pounds.

@GaryF If you search for fitness equipment gas spring/strut there's quite a few options. The struts we offer are intended for doors/hatches/vehicle hoods so we likely won't have the right fit for your fitness machine. If you can measure the old one I would add that into your search to help narrow it down. You should be able to get into contact with the manufacturer for the fitness machine as well and get a part number for the strut to find it elsewhere or just order it through them.
