Question:
Hello, I have a 2020 Jeep Cherokee Latitude 4x4 with factory raised side rails. I’m interested in buying Yakima Skyrise Tent for Roof Rack Crossbars - 3 Persons - 600 lbs - Green Part Number Y79XR. Would like to ask you few questions: -can my Jeep roof support 600 lbs static load offered by the Yakima Skyrise Tent? -if yes, what is the crossbars I need to buy to install the Yakima Skyrise Tent on my Jeep roof? Please provide Part Number Yakima product preferred. Thank you so much!

Hello Viet; you won't find a static capacity listed anywhere for your 2020 Jeep Cherokee Latitude so you need to follow the guidelines for the Yakima SkyRise Tent # Y79XR. The side rails must be supported as seen in the diagram below. Also, the roof and roof rack capacity needs to be at least 165 lbs. I have seen tents on the newer Cherokee so I'm assuming it will work. However, you will need to check your owner's manual or you reach out to your local dealer to find the roof capacity and confirm this.
For the roof rack, you can use the Yakima TimberLine Roof Rack # Y39YD. The JetStream crossbars have a 165 lb capacity so they will be compatible with the tent. They're also incredibly quiet so you won't have too much extra noise if you're driving around without the tent or other accessories attached.

Hey Viet, were you able to confirm the roof capacity on your Cherokee and try out the Yakima TimberLine rack with the SkyRise tent? Knowing how that setup worked could help others thinking about a similar rooftop tent build.
